HERE COMES THE BREEDERS' CUP

HERE COMES THE BREEDERS' CUP

This year's Breeders' Cup will be run at Santa Anita Racetrack in California.  Santa Anita will also host the Breeders' Cup next year, making it the first racetrack to get the coveted honor twice in a row.

Last year marked the first time the races were run on two separate days.  This year it will again be run on two days.  On Friday, October 24, there will be five Breeders' Cup races.  All the races on Friday are restricted to fillies and mares.  Post time for the first of those races, The Filly & Mare Sprint, is 3:35 PM Eastern (12:35 Pacific).  The Juvenile Fillies Turf, the Juvenile Fillies, The Filly & Mare Turf, and the Ladies Classic will follow.  A final non-Breeders' Cup stakes race will end the Santa Anita card for the day.

On Saturday, October 25, there will be 9 Breeders' Cup races and three additional stakes races.  Post time for the first race on Saturday is 1:10 PM Eastern (10:10 AM Pacific).  Once again, the track will have a guaranteed $3 million Pick 6 pay out.

ESPN will televise the Friday Breeders' Cup races live from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM Eastern.  On Saturday, the early races will be televised nationally on ABC from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Eastern Time.  At 3:30 PM ESPN will pick up the coverage until the end at 7:00 PM.

The Breeders' Cup races are the hardest of all races for any handicapper to win.  The horses come from all over the world.  The variety of racing conditions and lack of published information regarding some of the racing venues across the globe makes the usual methods of handicapping useless.  This year, handicapping the races will be made in harder by the fact that the dirt races will run on an artificial surface.

To win, you need to have access to the sort of information possessed by the owners, trainers, jockeys, and the partners of the Wall Syndicate.  Odds in the pari-mutuel betting system are determined by the betting.  Amateurs across the country bet the Breeders Cup with little or no adequate information.  As a result, the average payouts in the Breeders' Cup are much higher than normal.  The professional gambling groups, such as the Wall Street Crew, are able to step out without seriously affecting the odds in the huge pools created by a sea of international betting.  This has resulted in our achieving tremedous winning days on the toughest day of the year to win.

Two years ago, in the 2006 Breeders' Cup, picking just one horse on top to win, we collected on Maryfield paying $11.40 for a $2 win bet, $6.80 for a $2 place bet, and $4.70 for a $2 show bet.  We followed that up with wins on:

Dreaming of Anna paying $7.20. and

Mesque Approval paying $50.60, $17.20, and $10.40.  Our horse picked for second finished second again, giving us a boxcar $722 payout for every $2 bet.

On the day, a bettor making $20 bets to win, place and show and just $10 bets on the exactas and $2 bets on the Triples netted an amazing $3080 for the day.

Last year, in 2007, we won again.  We didn't hit any $722 exactas again, but we had one horse picked on top to win in 7 races, and our top horse finished in the money (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in 5 of the 7 races.  That's an unbelievable 71% in the money percentage.  That sort of percentage would be stupendous at even money, but our average odds for the 7 horses picked on top was over 5-1.  The odds on all our top picks were so high, we made a profit in all 5 of the 7 races in which our pick finished in the money.  Our biggest winner was Maryfield again (see the 2006 record) paying $18.00 to win, $9.00 to place, and $6.00 to show.  For some strange reason, after winning the year before, the public sent Maryfield off the following year at even higher odds than in 2006.
