Just a warning to my east coast peeps:
Hurricane Irene is heading up the eastern coast and the New Jersey government is asking people to evacuate and the Atlantic City casinos are closing - at least for today.
Atlantic
City’s 11 casino hotels are expected to close today for only the third
time in history as Hurricane Irene barrels up the coast and a mandatory
evacuation begins in the seaside resort.
Of
course, while all the other casino companies are taking customer safety
first Caesars Eastern Division President is slightly flippant about
customer safety.
Don Marrandino, Eastern Division
President of Caesars Entertainment which operates Harrah’s Resort,
Bally’s Atlantic City, Caesars Atlantic City and Showboat Casino-Hotel,
said late Thursday that he was “not sure” if the casinos would close
this weekend.
The media tends to over dramatize
potential disasters, so I'm usually a little doubtful about events like
this but I encourage everyone with plans to go to Atlantic City this
weekend to be safe.
