Season Opener Time! NBA/MLB Combined RoundUp for 4/5

Wow, just a TON to cover in the opening remarks of this blog, so PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ THESE PARAGRAPHS, because I need some feedback.

First, a quick recap of yesterday in the NBA -- we made three total plays, and grabbed a ROBUST 3-0 pure sweep, with the Celtics hanging on, and the Spurs and Pacers blowing out the Lakers and Rockets, respectively. We're 12-4 since last Sunday, so we're really starting to hit our stride in the NBA!

With that in mind, and being that there are no NBA games tonight on NCAA Championship/MLB Season Opener Monday, we have some issues to address. The largest is exactly how to transition the blog platform from one sport to another.

My current plan is subject to change, but what I'd like to do is continue to write the NBA blog the night before the game occur (as we currently do), possibly shortening the write-ups on each game to some length in between the weekday and weekend size, list the MLB odds for the following day within the same blog, then add MLB notes the following morning.

Then, when NBA ends, we'll simply remove NBA from the blog, and continue to list MLB odds the night before and notes in the morning. The reason this works for me is because the site I use to get most of my MLB stats updates at about 8am EST, which means that I need to wait to get the bulk of my handicapping statistics. Baseball notes will be predominantly players that have been exceptionally GOOD or BAD in that day's specific situation. You'll see, when you read below.

For today, however, my stats pages are updated the day before (because these are the first games, after all), so below, I'd like to unveil the FIRST FULL MLB BLOG of the 2010 season! I will not be releasing a Paid Play tomorrow, but starting Tuesday, both MLB and NBA are fair game for some money-making and value-hunting. Let's do this!

  • COME ON OVER TO THE NEWBLOG, FELLAS!

    http://bit.ly/9er6bf

  • I got one more game tonight I am on the Mariner M/L  waiting to see who comes around tonight to POP!  Great calls on all your MLB leans.  Did u play any of them?

  • I had to walk away, Dan! I csimply could not watch the ending.  I can't beleive he almost mad that last three shot (Butler).  My brother is drinkin' tha' Hatorade, right now!  Ha HA  BEEE  octh!

  • WOW!

  • Fun first day of MLB, HELL of a Championship game, and tomorrow brings the first MLB and NBA day where both Leagues have a decent slate of games!

  • Dear Zack Grienke... I'll help you hide the bodies of those sorry-ass excuses for middle relievers. Just sayin'...

  • Hahaha, that's how I like it -- if someday folks are talking about Dan Bebe's career, I want the first things they say to be, "He was the most accessible and generous handicapper of all time!"

But seriously, if I'm only selling one play, there's no reason for me to screw over anyone that's finishing up an NBA package.  You long term guys deserve ALL my plays, so I'll make sure you get 'em!

  • WOOHOO, sounds great, but by all means, charge for it as you deserve it if you are a capper here, don't you?  Uh oh, I am asking you to charge us, something wrong with that

  • so4 -

We look forward to having you around!!  As Coutu was saying, if you follow the 4 cappers he mentioned (me, Hook, sac, GF) you are almost guaranteed a solid MLB season.  And when I say follow, I don't mean play every play or buy every package, I just mean buy a few, learn the tricks of the trade, read the writeups, read my blog, listen to the podcasts, and you'll be 10x better at capping and betting baseball than you were the year before!

  • Sweet - I BELIEVE so. I BELIEVE you get any play that I upload.

    However, I'm not 100% certain.

So, since I'm still selling just 1 play a day, I'll continue to SELL the NBA play (so you'd get that as part of the NBA package), and make the MLB plays the Free ones, so that you will definitely get those, too.

How does that sound?  I'm all about customer service!! :)

  • I'll just leave it and hope the angels get up, Cheers Dan. I've found baseball to be difficult to win in previous seasons, im hoping I can grind it out more this season with the experts on here, looking forward to contributing too.

  • Hey Danno, quick question, if we are subscribed for the NBA season, do we get MLB play as well until the NBA regular season is over?  That's the impression I got after reading your prelude above...

  • so4 - No sense buying off and taking a loss on the play.  The Angels are still a decent play, I think, and line movement isn't the be all end all.  Hell, the White Sox/Indians game had bad line movement for the Sox and they beat the hell out of Cleveland...

  • Ok thanks for that! Based on your info I will staw away from LAA.  I can't help but see the news and Minute Maid Park is sold out for the Astros, so I think this crowd and their new catcher might be cause to lay off, too.  A

-150 favorite is no prize, combine that with the idea that there is always tomorrow and the Stros just have to be due a season opening winner.  Today or next year...but not today for me.  Plenty to watch on the boob tube and I am 1-0 to start the week...so why mess with perfection, right?

  • Interesting, I already took the angels, but can take the twins at +115, to balance out the bet. What do you think about this strategy?
