I think Tony and Shay are at each others neck's because Tony is is exhibiting the rational that Shay was railing against before. The rational where you say you like something or you don't, as opposed to "I like it at this price, I don't like it at this price".
I do not agree with Tony when he says the Cavs have absolutely no shot of winning. Any team that is currently 5/1 certainly has a shot, and given the right price, they'd absolutely be worth a wager.
I subscribe to "Everything has a price" as much as anyone else, but in EVERY case, is the price given actually the correct one? Take Craig Stadler in the Masters. Yes he is 5000/1, but at 10,000/1 is he now worth a bet? Personally, I do not believe Craig Stadler is capable of winning the Masters. I do not believe he even has a 1 in 5001 chance like the market is telling me.
So I think this is the angle Tony was trying to take, in that he thought Tiger was not capable of winning. I understand what he's saying, but at the same time I certainly thought Tiger was more capable of winning this tournament than Costa Rica were of winning their group.
Shit happens sometimes
