Super Bowl 34 for me. In the Georgia Dome the St Louis Rams held off the Titans in a thriller that came down to the final play when Mike Jones made the big stop at the goal line preserving the 23-16 winner for the Rams. Capped off a season in which nobody predicted much for the Rams when starting QB Trent Green went down in the preseason and the job was inherited by journeyman QB Kurt Warner. And no, despite being a Missouri resident I am not a Rams fan. Those who know me around Pregame know I am a die hard Packers guy. Admittedly for most the game it was nothing spectacular but things picked up in dramatic style down the stretch with Kevin Dyson getting stopped from scoring the game winner on the one yard line by Jones as the clock ran out. Was watching the game in a sports bar here in Columbia packed to the gills with Rams fans and the ringing in my ears didn't subside for several hours. I've seen them all including the first one featuring the Packers and Chiefs, which was actually broadcast by both NBC and CBS. But the fact is the Packers dominated the game and likewise the next year when they took out Oakland. Many might point to the Jets upset of the Colts but frankly the actual game itself was pretty boring truth be told. Anyway, like I said, I've seen them all and that one stands out as my own personal favorite. Too bad Minnesota and Buffalo never squared off so one of them at least could take home the Lombardi trophy.
Just a thought. Enjoy the game sunday fellas and best of luck. Unless you're opposite myself and my clients obviously. Take care!
