More the reason you almost NEVER give up points in the NFL...at least not this year and maybe not in the future. It's way too competitive, NFL loves parity, it is good for ratings. Any time you take a home favorite, your basically saying, i'm taking the team i like, but giving up another 3 to 4 points from what the line should be just because they are playing on their home turf. So they have to play better than expected to cover a smoke and mirrors EXTRA number. This is why home dogs can be attractive and why some many games are decided by 7 points or less, and the most important part, albeit it didn't happen last night, is just pick the winner of the game and you also have the team that covers in the NFL. This percentage is in the high 90s this year. While easier said than done, it is what the NFL is and no reason to think it'll change moving forward.
