Okay, here we go again. I promised RJ to post a comp NFL release on here every week and here it is. Last week we cashed in pretty easy fashion with the Kansas City Chiefs against the Raiders. Not much drama in that one and those are always the best kind. The current record with these selections stands at 4-2 on the season.
This week I am fading the Chiefs as my comp release is on the visiting New Orleans Saints. Just too many points here in my opinion guys. Right now I see the Saints are commonly getting 6.5 points. I expect this one to be competitive to the very end and we will be glad to have the points in our pockets. This Saints offense is just too potent to be laying that kind of number. The fact is Payton's club has scored 32 points or more in all but one game thus far this season. I think Brees can do some work against that Chiefs secondary. Plus you have to remember the Chiefs are off a pretty big, emotional win over a bitter divisional rival. Last week I was talking about Andy Reid and his remarkable track record with games coming off the bye week. Well, the trend held up. But now on the flip side the fact is also that Reid has not had success in the games after the first one back., The Saints have been a profitable play on the road having covered the number now in their last four road games. It's also a fact that Brees has excelled in this role. When Brees has gone into a game where the Saints are dogs of 6 or more points he has led to a cover in six of the last seven in that spot. I liked the Saints and the points even before digging into it, I am not crazy about trends all the time but that did prop up confidence in the play. No need for paralysis of analysis here. I say take the Saints +6.5 and I say it is a game you can play with confidence. I will also add this is also a client release for this sunday.
On the business side of things I have cashed now on 8 of my last 9 football featured releases. I have two big plays up and loaded for this weekend. A Triple Star in college for saturday. It is a selection that will raise some eye brows but I think it's a rock solid, no drama winner for us. Then on sunday I have loaded up my NFL Rabid Dog game of the year. I have cashed 7 of my 9 NFL Triples this season to date. Most of those have also been dogs. I can say with all candor this is my favorite NFL release to date this season. Since the 2011 NFL season these Rabid dogs are 66-32, 67% winners over the course of 98 releases. So if you are more into short term, okay this season has been great with them. If you are more into long term we've got that covered as well.
Okay, there it is for this week. Take the Saints and the points and enjoy the game. Thanks and best of luck guys.
