First thing this morning was a unanimous agreement that Justin Verlander is back to form. I did not see the game but watching the highlights it looked to me like the Verlander of old. His fast ball seemed as lively as ever and he seemed to have good command. The Angels were over matched last night, plain and simple. Can't come much closer to firing a no no without getting it done. That ball literally kicked up the chalk. Couple of inches and it is a different outcome. Another topic that has been brought up before reared its ugly head. It is my firm opinion that sports betting should be legalized. Boggles my mind that folks can buy lottery or power ball tickets out the kazoo or go to a local casino or boat and play craps, blackjack, or those mindless slots but they cannot wager $55 to win $50 on the football game. When I think of the revenue stream being just pissed away when the funds are clearly needed it just makes me shake my head. I know some people take a moral high ground with the whole thing period and if it is sincere then I will respect their view. However I feel the majority of folks hanging their argument on that stand are really hypocrites deep down. Anyway, the subject is once again getting some play and my stance is we need to finally grow up in this area and do it and do it right. Hell, I was a bookie for years. Guys are going to bet on sports, period. Prohibition sure as hell did not stop folks from swigging away on liquor did it. The government needs to pull its head out of the damn sand. Finally, I saw on facebook that a, and I am not kidding here, a 273 LB flathead catfish pulled out of the Missouri river. I cannot begin to comprehend landing a beast like that. I knew there were some monster cats in that river but good lord agnes, 273 lbs of fish.
Anyway, as always feel free to chime in if you have a view on any of this. And no, I do not know what the guy who using for bait.
Good luck with your action today guys.
