This a classic game where the Lions need a win and that is exactly why it scares me. Why didn't Trestman make this move sooner when it may actually have saved his job? He must think that this back-up gives him a better chance of executing his game plan towards a win. Would winning the last couple of games save his job? What type of game plan could Chicago employ to have a real shot at winning? It seems that a run driven, ball control plan is the only thing that would give them a shot but Detroit should be able to nullify that. I seriously doubt a whole lot of Chicago passes will be chanced with a guy who hasn't been playing. Detroit pressure should keep them a lot more conservative. Detroit probably won't need to score a lot to win this game.
When faced with situations such as this- that is how Detroit tends to play. It's never ceases to amaze me how they play down to the competition but still think of themselves as a good team. A low scoring game is the most likely scenario (IMO). The more pts. Chicago gets the better it looks from my perspective.
You would think that Detroit only needs to execute their offense minus turnovers for an easy cover. I just don't have much faith in a mistake free Detroit effort (especially in Chicago).
