I guess no better time than when on a streak to go big or go home...
DENVER BRONCOS -9 (GAME OF THE YEAR)
When I look to step out with a big play, usually I look for all the stars to align. Situational, talent, hot vs. cold, etc, etc. Sunday I expect a wire to wire rout of the Jets by Peyton and co. We already know this team is in turmoil, Geno Smith is clearly the worst QB in the NFL, possibly the worst since Jamarcus Russell IMO, he is a turnover machine, and this improved Denver defense should feast on him. The talent level on the offensive side of the ball is just very poor for the Jets and in order to cover this line they will need to score in the mid to high 20s minimum. Reason being, the Jets secondary is poor, and while they are stout against the run, that is not how the Broncos are going to attack you until you drop everyone back and Peyton runs you to death. The guy is a genius when it comes to manipulating defenses and taking advantage of whatever look they give him. Last week the Chargers shut the Jets out 31-0 and really could have scored much more if they wanted to keep throwing it at them, add Peyton's quest for the touchdown record to that equation and you see where I am going with this. Peyton likes getting records out of the way quickly so he can move on to the next big thing, he needs 5 TD passes to tie here, and 6 to pass Favre, while 6 is unlikely, I could see 5.
Bottom line is this game sets up as bad as possible for the Jets and the Broncos are not the team to line up against when in flux. I see this one being quite ugly, not much different than last week's Chargers game, even with the Jets being at home, where we will likely hear more boos than anything which will not help Geno at all.
Denver Broncos lay the beat down on the Jets and Geno should be making his last start in the NFL here as Rex will be forced to act if he wants to continue coaching here. DENVER 41 NEW YORK 13
