Serial Geno Smith basher Steve Fezzik took to the Pregame airwaves to once again put down the former WVU legend and likely future Pro Bowler. /tv/?o=5&v=fPA7Go7GEKk&s=1 Fezzik feels strongly that the Jets are the right side week 1 against Oakland and has been saying so for a while. Despite the fact that he is backing the Jets he still managed to go out of his way to criticize Geno Smith. If he truly hates Geno Smith as much as he claims it wouldn't make sense to back the Jets week 1 as strongly as he has, especially considering money has come in on the Raiders. What this tells me is privately he likely respects Geno Smith's ability (as most others do) but publicly, for whatever reason, enjoys bashing him.
This is unacceptable. Those of you who were in the forums last year remember that due to excessive Geno Smith bashing there was discussion of the need to show him the same respect we are required to show other forum members and putting penalties in place for those who do not. I think we need to revisit that idea and I will be in touch with RJ Bell and Tom Patterson regarding the issue.
Pregame management should send a message that Fezzik's poor treatment of Geno Smith will no longer be tolerated. While a suspension would probably be appropriate I doubt it will occur considering how close we are to the start of the season. At the very least Fezzik should have to apologize. Geno Smith is a quality person with a bright future ahead of him and deserves every opportunity to succeed.
Sorry to rant like this fellas but it needed to be said. Best of luck to everyone this season.
