Well hell, here's the deal guys. As plainly as I can speak. This football season was simply NOT up to my standards or also the expectations of clients. It simply was not. I owned every step of the way. I never boasted or crowed when things were good. I never hid when things were bad. If you choose to sell selections you'd better be willing to take the bad with the good. I get all that. Problems occur when some cannot handle losing bets. Hell, I don't exactly enjoy it. People get pissy when I mention self discipline and money management. Think I am using it as some kind of excuse. Let me address that straight on, right here and now. My long term clients know I stressed those principles just as heavily when I was kicking ass. Every bit as much, and they all know it. I have been consistent with it. I do that because there are inevitable swings in this stuff. Either you can accept it or not. If not, you will become very bitter, and very broke.
Respect is supposed to be shown on the forum. RJ has provided a forum where posters and pro's can interact. The pro's, as far as I can see, do all they can it be out there for the customers. BUT, some people cannot interact favorably or in a mature manner. We all know it, we can all remember the kids in school that just could not seem to get along with others. That seemed to throw tantrums when they did not get their way. Some never really grow out of that stage. Sad, but we all know it. They grow up and become sports betting forum trolls. Yes, I said it. Trolls. We all know who they are. Hell, they know who they are. They get a sick pleasure of feeding off negativity. I have seen every single pro here come under attack at various times. It is inevitable because swings happen to all of us, pro or Joe Public. Let's just face it, there are some strange, strange birds out there. They just cannot deal with it when someone confronts them with it. And then when I do, or any pro does, we are being defensive or argumentative. Ignore or respond, damned if we do, damned if we don't. And there is nothing one can say after a loss that will appease them. And they want to use long term records if it suits their negative agenda. They want it both ways. If the long term mark is bad, they want to draw it like a weapon. If it is a positive, well you are just living in the past. Good grief.
The bottom line is I am just stating what I suspect most the pro's are thinking. I've discussed it with some, not all. We do our best. Both with the capping and communicating. I mean it when I say I have made some really good friends through the years here. There are tons of very good guys around here. It is just unfortunate the few will always be there that simply cannot, or don't want to abide by the simple, fundamental rules for the forum. They come, they try and stir things up, they get kicked out, they assume a new identity and start the whole process over. Man, that is just sick guys. Sad and sick.
For myself, I will go back to work. I am still very high energy and will get the job done. Hell, I am 57, not 87. I talk about things from the 60's and such but that is because sports and sports wagering have been part of my life, well, my whole life. But things will be fine, this old dog still has plenty of bite in him. I want to end this on a positive rather than negative note. I want to emphasize once again there are great guys around here. Too many to start naming. Thank god, lol.
Good luck this week with your action fellas.
