I've never been one to run from political conversation. That's for sure! Why not get in on this one. I've been in other arguments (errr... conversations) on here before and it is no secret that I'm an anti-Republican for the most part (especially the uneducated "Fox News Republican"). So...
1. I'm not going to bust balls over the way anybody salutes anybody. Not a big deal to me either way. I don't care if Bush hugs his dog or Obama has a tea or coffee or if Eisenhower didn't salute the military at all. (Although footage does show Eisenhower saluting the military sometimes.) Who cares? Definitely less people than a lot of you think! That is for sure! Bottom line: A President is not required to do it. Knowing this maybe everybody should be happy a gesture is ever given. Maybe...
2. W. Bush vs. Obama is a very fun discussion to me. Just for fun the two charts below show Quinnipiac's approval ratings by year for both Presidents. Obviously this has nothing to do with how "good" or "bad" a President is/was but it does show the perception of the people that were polled.
3. Obama's FACTCHECK.ORG's quarterly numbers:
It's a pretty neat report to check every quarter.
CNN Money's quarterly report: Obama's Economy in 17 Charts
4. I have learned that the health insurance welfare of each person depends on the state that one lives in. My parents health insurance coverage and price improved three-fold. They live in N.Y. This is a very good thing because shortly after their changes my Mother began battling a pretty serious case of breast cancer. The good news is that she is getting through it. Best of all, she has been afforded a few aids that would not have been covered under their previous plans. Obviously, this is a good story.
I know there are quite a few bad stories as well. However a lot of the real bad stories are coming out of states that have not embraced/taken advantage of the A.C.A. Personally, my insurance coverage and price has stayed the same. I chalk that up to United Healthcare being such an awesome company though. My brother's coverage, who also lives in Florida, has decreased yet the price has increased by almost 35%. He has Blue Cross Blue Shield. No bueno!
5. The budget outlook / deficit is improving quite a lot.
6. I've won more money on political bets than all of my sports wagers combined. If you guys don't bet this stuff you are missing out!!!
