Took AUBURN + 3 1/2 @5Dimes We are getting to the final chapters of "Les Miles' Final Days at L.S.U". From the days he started off with a bang at Baton Rouge, using all players recruited by Nick Saban, its finally coming to pass that this fine assistant, who professes to be a SEC Head Football Coach, is dying a slow death and dragging the L.S.U. program with him. Sure they have all the talented players they need with the exception of a QB, something Myles never could recruit, but slowly as each year passes, the most uneducated college football fans in the country, The L.S.U. fans, don't have a clue just how bad a Head Coach Miles really is. Word has it that L.S.U. All American, in the late 50's, Billy Cannon, is leading the movement to get Miles fired. Today, the country will see that not only is the wrong team favored today, but Auburn has all the incentive they need to bury this L.S.U. confused football team. The fact that L.S.U. has no QB, combined with the fact that Miles is on his coaching "death bed",will expose, once again, how close Myles is to getting fired. Big win outright for Auburn today! The post above , that I posted before the AUBURN vs. L.S.U Game, should have taught you 2 things. I knew L.S.U. was in serious trouble, regarding their football team, and secondly, that Head Football Coach Les Miles was on the verge of getting fired soon. Rarely does a NCAA Head College Football Coach get fired right after the season starts, muchness during a season. Usually a firing occurs at seasons end. Most schools try to fire a Head Coach with some dignity, but when you are like Les Miles, as I said above in my post, Coach Miles was "on his death bed." Other than win with the talent that Nick Sabin recruited, Les Miles did more to hurt L.S.U. Football , its program and its fans than any coach in L.S.U. history. After he ran out of Sabin recruits, he started then to slowly destroy the football program, any coach would "kill" to get. He was not ever taught to recruit, and over his stay at L.S.U. I have spoken to parents whose sons were outright lied to by Miles. This man came across as being a mild mannered , nice guy, who was taught the game by Coach "BO" at Michigan. But nothing could be further from the truth. Miles was a total shell of a coach, who evidently had enough connections, for whatever reason, to get the job when Sabin quit. As I stated above, when "Mr. L.S.U." the great Tiger Heisman Trophy Winner, began to see his great L.S.U. program, starting to be destroyed by a man who was unable to bleed Purple and Gold, Cannon began to "take the bull by the horns" and told Miles privately, now well known, "if things do not improve, we are going to have to make a change." When Billy Cannon talks, L.S.U. listens. That is the influence Dr. Billy Cannon has. So when the season began, it appeared the Auburn game, considering the start the Tigers had this season, was going to be the game that caused Miles' firing. It was as though, that was a conclusion the powers at L.S.U. had last week. I knew the pressure Miles was under and so did the players. Thats why it was obvious that the majority of Tiger players, played far from their best, as if they knew it was for the best that the only way L.S.U. would ever turn it around, was to see Miles fired. The players knew Miles never had their back, as they knew the meetings he missed , the requests he turned down to meet with teachers who attempted to help student athletes. So Les Miles you learned a tough lesson, that is, no worse thing can happen to a Head Coach, than to be fired before the end of a season. But you deserved it. Now , as someone who never had feelings for L.S.U. for personal reasons, I am happy to see that L.S.U. can move forward instead of every week move backward. Its questionable how long it will take, for some new Head Coach to build back up, what you destroyed. It may never be close to the L.S.U. "Days of Glory". The only good thing that came out of this, was that for me, I bet on Auburn with both hands. And so did many L.S.U. fans that never would have thought they could bet against their beloved Tigers. So long Les!
