I watched this game closely to see where this program is and despite the outcome I'm already encouraged at what I see. The offense will definitely be a challenge here and likely for a while. It's pretty clear that Harbaugh doesn't trust his offense and QB much and this game will be experienced as a difficult loss. All-in-all though, the defense played fairly well (despite very little help from the offense). Simply put- the QB gave the game away and Utah was very happy to take advantage of his many mistakes.
I don't care that this QB is a more experienced guy from another program- I can see where he is very limited in key qualities that would allow for more success. It would be very hard for him to implement a lot of things that Harbaugh might like to do but are outside of his real abilities. Tough loss Dilaudid8 but like you said- its gambling.
