Week 2 of CBB chaos. This is fun. I'm not a big fan of the Big dance in week one, but now it's been wittled down to the sweet sixteen and this is really where you shine or hit the road. I can't give you a bunch of stats for my picks, but having watched these teams over the last 4 months, I've got a pretty good read on some of them.
First let me hop to the NIT. I love CS Bakersfield here. They just destroyed Cal 73-66 in a game that wasn't that close and totally demoralized Colorado State 81-63 last night. CSB has been on the rise the last 5 years and I see no reason for a let off. Getting 6.5 points at UT Arlington seems like a gift especially considering CSB is ranked in the top 10 in defense in all of college hoops.
Arizona -7.5 The wildcats have it going on plain and simple plus no team adjusts at half better than they do. They've got the depth and height to win this. Arizona is 4-4 vs top 25 teams - Xavier is 2-6
Gonzaga -3 vs W. Virginia. The zags are 6-0 vs top 25 teams vs 6-4 for WV. I love the zags this year even though they've had some ups and downs but they have talent galore And this is their best team to date.
Other games:
I can see Oregon getting beat here. For me they just haven't shown enough consistency to want to back them. I don't know anything about Michigan but they are 7-2 against top 25 teams so I know there's ample talent there.
UCLA vs Kentucky at pickem. I just don't believe the Bruins can beat them twice and now that coach Alford seems headed to Indiana, it's got to be a distraction to the team. If the Bruins catch fire, they'll win but kentucky is so well coached I doubt that's going to happen. It's a coin toss
Ill try to post more but those are the only games that caught my attention.
