The night was a good one, however Gattis the Menace's 2-run shot in the 10th killed the parlay....it could have been much better. We did post a 3-0 on the ice for the night, so no real complaints. The Howlin' Dog was also lost on that Gattis HR, but we are firing on another. Stack 'em up!
Philadelphia Phillies (+168) Howlin' Dog ~ This is A Tale of Two Cities. Ryu has been perfect on the road and was lit up at home. The Phillies have absolutely mashed LHP (.319 BA/.372 OBP).....RHP, not so much. Ah, yes.....we have AJ on the other hill with a suspect bullpen, so a play on the Over 6½ (-115) is also in order. As this will no doubt be a contrarian play, it is probably worth waiting on.
Washington Nationals (-110) Mini - Too much Pujols ~ I honestly cannot trust Jordan to hold the Halos down beyond 5 innings and the Nats can (and do) hit LHP (.305 BA). Without the ability to get that big strike-out, Skaggs may find himself in some early trouble.
Cincinnati Reds (-112) ~ As is always the case with Cueto toeing, my main concern is run support. I am not really sold yet on Volquez's newly found control and expect the Reds' hitters to be patient and to draw a few passes. I'm also not sure that he is still capable of getting that big K when needed? Cueto needs to be very careful with McCutchen.
Not sure what to make of Dickey? I am sure he'll get it together, but I won't bet on it being tonight. Miggy had a great home outing, but has been battered on the road. Slight lean to the Orioles, but will be a No Play. The Over 8½ (-110) is worth a gander? Two of the three Jays that have taken Gonzalez deep are on the DL. Although EE has homered twice vs this starter, he is also just 2-17 career.
**Minnesota Twins/TB Rays Under 7½ (-120) ~ I would play this as a single at Under 7 (Ev+) and that is where it is likely headed. Gibson has been great and the Twins struggle a bit to hit LHP....Price doesn't hurt. David Price, that is....LOL Between Gibson and Colabello it is hard to let this huge Twins ML (+190) slide. Going to think on it a bit more.....gonna pass on the Twinks based simply on H/A hitting splits. An upset will be no surprise, though. Price has fooled nobody at the Trop early this season. The Tribe really ran up Gibson's pitch-count...I expect the Rays will, too.
Minnesota Twins +1½ (-110)
Minnesota Twins (+205) ½ unit
Have to give the Yanks a slight edge with the Red Sox (never having seen Tanaka) not hitting that well to start with. It will likely wind up on the "almost" pile......
Not a recommendation, but a caveat emptor........the Padres have hit Gallardo well.
Colorado Rockies (+115) ~ What? Don't look now but the Giants, who were stunning LHP, are now in a free-fall facing southpaws (.239 BA). Who is not? Yup.....the Rox hitting a monstrous .322 against them. CarGo himself has taken Bum deep 5 times. Don't let that 1.74 road ERA fool you. He has allowed opponents to hit .311 when visiting. Look out Bumgarner!
Houston Astros (+160) ~ Really? They beat Felix last night, the M's are hitting .188 at home (yep, I missed that last night) and I get a line like this facing Erasmo? Count me in.....slight edge to Houston having seen him once before.
Houston Astros (+155) Mini ~ McHugh should be good a couple times through the order, however I won't discount the bullpen blowing it.
Chicago Cubs (-115) Mini ~ Paying the extra $0.06 well worth leaving the bullpen on the rack.
+1850 Mixer Parlay;
Tampa Bay Lightning/Montreal Canadiens Under 5 (+100) That's what happens when you try and sit on a lead....LOL ~ Habs should make it very tough sledding. At least one Price will be sharp.
Los Angeles Kings (-115) ~ Just cannot see LA going down without a fight.
Chicago Cubs (-111) ~ Hoping that the Cubbies build enough of a lead for their bullpen to hold on. Yep, the Snakes' bullpen IS factored in.
San Diego Padres +1½ (-170) ~ I believe the Pads win outright, but we'll take the runs.
Houston Astros +1½ (-140)
