New York Yankees -144
Like the ole pinstripes here tonight. They have a lot of new faces on the roster this year and I think they are going to be better this season. The additions of Kelly Johnson, Brian Roberts, Carlos Beltran and Jacoby Ellsbury are going to make them better. They also get Mark Teixeria back and we think he can have a great season. Brett Gardner is back healthy as well. This might be a squad with a lot of cast-aways but I think they're going to be a team we can back this season. CC isn't the same guy he was when the Yanks first got him, but Sabathia still has a lot of potential. We like him today against the Astros, who have only 12 career at bats against him. Sabathia battled control issues last season and was horrendous on the road. But Minute Maid Park is massive and even pitching to contact can help him win today. This is a very solid price for us and one that doesn't scare me at all.
Tampa Bay Rays -160
Alex Cobb went 11-3 last season with a sub-3.00 ERA. Current Blue Jays have hit just .200 against him in 35 plate appearances and Cobb was dominant at home last season, going 7-0 and allowing opponents to hist just .225 against him at Tropicana Field. I don't think the Blue Jays are going to be any good this season and starting Drew Hutchinson in their second game of the year might be an indication of that. He's a youngster, yes, but this might be a tall task of him so early in the season. We like Cobb to have a solid outing and the Rays will score some runs against the pup Hutchinson.
