Hello,
Was hoping to get some information pertaining to bankroll and a poor season. This post is not a dig on anyone. Mr. Essler hasn't had a losing baseball year in 7 years. I guess it happens.
This is me wanting information on bankroll management and what to do in this situation. Was looking for constructive comments to improve in the future. Hopefully from some of the pros.
I decided to bet baseball this year for the first time and chose Uncle Dave. He's already made me much money by tutoring in CBB that I can now do that sport successfully on my own.
I also decided to strictly follow this bankroll management method posted by Greg Shaker awhile back:
/pregame_blogs/b/greg_shaker/archive/2009/05/09/money-management-key-to-betting-success.aspx
(Unfortunately this post does not give any info when the bankroll goes down)
Here is how the baseball season has gone following this strict guideline (rounding some numbers to make the betting easier):
BANKROLL BETS (1*, 2*, 3*)
$5,000 75, 150, 225
$4,000 60, 120, 180
$3,200 48, 96, 144
$2,500 40, 75, 115
$2,000 30, 60, 90
$1,600 25, 50, 75
$2,000 30, 60, 90
$2,400 36, 72, 108
$2,000 30, 60, 90 22-Jun
$1,600 25, 50, 75 18-Jul
$1,300 20, 40, 60 16-Aug
Sorry, didn't think about putting in dates until June 22.
As you can see the bets are down to 20/40/60 (1*, 2*, 3*) and have been stuck at the $1300 level for over a month. This method definitely makes it difficult to go broke. But it also seems very tough to dig out of a hole.
Questions:
1. Are there any suggestions on what could have been done differently during the year?
2. Do you pros start your bankroll over at sometime during the year?
3. Do you just stay the course and eventually recover? It is a marathon, not a sprint.
4. Anything I am missing?
Any information that would make my betting future more profitable would be greatly appreciated.
Again, please no sarcastic or negative comments. Only constructive information is wanted. Maybe this post can even help betters that have gone broke betting the straight 100, 200, 300. I know my starting $5000 would be completely gone if I had gone that route.
I still have hope for the end of the baseball season. Let's turn it around buddy and maybe level up a couple times.
Thank you very much to those that respond.
