What was interesting last night as I sat with Dodger fans and Giant fans and saw the game seesaw back and forth was how happy the fans were for their respective teams as they battled past midnight. Clutch diving catches in the outfield by both teams, great infield plays with the players displaying their rocket arms to retire the batters, runners hustling around the bases, everyone from both teams giving their all, and the pitchers for both teams who all night seemed to start the innings in trouble but battle back with big pitches to get out of the jams. Both teams going deep into their bullpens and each pitcher coming through. As the evening wore on the Dodger fans and Giant fans just looked at each other with a respect for both teams. There was no posturing or debating who "was best" in the stands. Everyone just enjoyed a well fought battle. I'm sure the same feeling came from the dugouts too as the players looked across the field into their opponent's dugout. I guess what I'm trying to say here is there is no need to determine who is the better pitcher - whether it be Greinke, Kershaw, or Bungarner. The point is they are all great performers and we should just feel fortunate to live in the time and place we are in to enjoy their performances. Enjoy this evening's game!
