Coming off our first losing day in awhile, but overall still looking positive.
Col / Cubs — might be going over AGAIN here, even with Arrieta pitching. Two straight games have gone into extra innings between these two clubs and the bullpens have thrown a combined 32 innings in this series. Day game, no total yet. Anxiously waiting for one.
Stl / San Diego — Fathers hit the shit out of the ball in this series and don't look now, but they're about to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals. Youngster Despaigne on the hill for the Fathers in this one. Might be worth a fade of him, depending on who is going to play for St. Louis. He's been stellar, but won't be great each and every start.
Phils / Wash — Cliff Lee is throwing on deadline day. By the time he takes the mound the deadline will have passed and unless he gets moved, he's going to start this (obviously). I seriously don't think anybody is going to take on that money, plus give up the prospects it would take to get him. He's a huge dog here which might be a bit unfair.
Cinc / Miami — Fish have been awesome but in this one they're going up against Cueto at home. He's been the man this season but Miami is playing well and could be a possible runline play here, especially with the low total.
Pitts / Ariz — Dbacks have been out-scored by 72 runs this season, which equates to them being 14 games under the .500 mark and out of contention. Pittsburgh still somehow has a chance in the National League Central and actually has leap frogged both Cincinnati and St. Louis. Pirates have been awful on the road, but if they figure out a way to win they're going to be a serious problem for the Brewers. Like Locke here.
Atl / Dodgers — Six-run total with Clayton and Teheran on the bump. No surprises there. Obviously won't pay for the Dodgers, still looking at the Braves as a major underdog, but Clayton has been next to impossible to beat.
CWS / Tigers — Detroit has been strangely poor at home this season. Inconsistent as well, but they do bounce lefties around pretty good this season, best in the league in fact. Chicago starter Danks is left handed and Smyly has been just OK for Detroit. Hard to believe he's laying this kind of price.
LAA / Bal — Took the Angels last night and lost. Took the Os the other day and won. Norris is having a great season for the Orioles, who I must admit should get serious consideration each and every time they are home dogs. As great as the Rays have played the last few weeks, they haven't been able to gain any ground on the Orioles, who are 7-3 themselves in the last 10 games.
Sea / Clev — Not surprised Cleveland moved Masterson, rumors had been that he and Tito weren't getting along. Seattle was just awful offensively last night and I'd hope they can be better in this one. Hopeful both teams can score because that would at least be fun to watch.
Min / KC — Had Twins Wednesday and they lost by a run. Bah. Ventura can light up the radar gun and we aren't going to pay this price for him. Probable pass in this one.
Tor / Hous — Astros aren't in last place, Texas is. Toronto is a handful of games outside of first place and have been on fire, winning eight of 10 games overall. Blue Jays are a pretty good road team.
