The beautiful thing about teasing (and more specifically 13pt teasing), is that if the oddsmakers are even REMOTELY close to the number, you win no matter WHAT side you pick. Obviously however, we want to be on the strongest side to begin with. 13pt teasing also inherently carries with it fantastic bullsh!t insurance that cannot be factored into the lines...you know, that crazy red-zone fumble near the end of the game, that blocked punt run back for a touchdown, that horsesh!t pass interference call on that 70 yard bomb at the 2-minute warning, or going for it on 4th on your own 30...you get the idea.
More specifically, with respect to anchor teasing, the anchor side has to pretty much be BULLETPROOF or it doesn't quality. For me personally this week, that team is Green Bay with a +13pt tease...for others, it may be another team. New England is also another extremely juicy option. And as mentioned in my original post, if you are not 100% completely sold out to one particular team, but have 2 extremely strong and well-researched opinions, you can spread your risk out by creating DUPLICATE tease tickets with a 50% dollar value each (or a half a unit each), and changing ONLY the anchor team (i.e. Green Bay -1 + Team/Total X + Team/Total Y + Team/Total Z for 1/2 unit, and New England -1.5 + Team/Total X + Team/Total Y + Team/Total Z for 1/2 unit as well ....vs. Green Bay + Team/Total X + Team/Total Y + Team/Total Z for 1 FULL unit). Note that you are ALLOWED to mix sides & totals when creating your teasers.
Some example teams you may want to add to one of your 4-team 13pt anchor teasers -- i.e. Green Bay -1 PLUS....
If you like College this weekend: SMU @ Houston U -6.5 and maybe LSU -17 @ Ole Miss ...etc. (Original lines: Houston -19.5, LSU -30). Do not make any of these selections without doing your own due diligence.
If you like NFL you can consider:
Kansas City @ New England -1.5
Arizona @ San Francisco +3.5
Dallas +5.5 @ Washington
Jacksonville +14 @ Cleveland
Seattle +14 @ St. Louis
Philadelphia @ New York G +9.5
Cincinnati +20 @ Baltimore
San Diego Chargers vs Chicago Bears (+9.5)
Again, these are just examples...do not make any of these selections without doing your own due diligence.
If you like NFL TOTALS you can consider:
Jacksonville Jaguars/Cleveland Browns (U 49.5)
Dallas Cowboys/Washington Redskins (U 55.5)
Arizona Cardinals/San Francisco 49ers (U 54.5)
San Diego Chargers/Chicago Bears (U 59.5)
Tennessee Titans/Atlanta Falcons (U 57.5)
Cincinnati Bengals/Baltimore Ravens (U 54)
Carolina Panthers/Detroit Lions (U 61.5)
Again, these are just examples...do not make any of these selections without doing your own due diligence. Note that you can just as easily tease the OVERS which will result in a 26pt net swing the other way.
I don't want to be responsible for anyone's wallet, so I'm not laying out my exact tickets, but hopefully there is enough beef in the information above to get you well on your way to a winning weekend. Any respectable online sportsbook offers up to at least +13pt teasers...and some as high as +20 (with heavier odds of course). A +13pt teaser @ Pinnacle Sports pays 10:14, and you can even get a +20pt teaser @ 5Dimes...but you'll have to include more than 4 teams to make it worth your while. Those are the only online books I'm with at the moment and therefore the only ones I'm qualified to comment on...
