In today's Big Conversation, the guys look at the early 2016 Super Bowl Odds.
The Seahawks are the early favorites, but they have no serious go to WR and their DC is gone, plus Marshawn Lynch is a question mark as to whether he is coming back.
Steve states that as of now he wants no parts of Seattle for next year, especially with the way an OC threw one of their players under the bus and the way they dropped that game in the end. It has created lockerroom problems.
Andy agrees, but also wants to see whet the residual affect of the end of the game has on the team moving forward. Andy also states that usually each year about 4-7 teams that made the playoffs the previous year failed to make them the next. If your looking for a long shot to play for a future then take a look at a team that didn't make the playoffs this year.
One team that comes to mind for Andy in next years super bowl is the Colts, who have continued to make steady improvements, but their odds are just 12-1 so he can't recommend them as a long shot. Scott would like to see them concentrate on the run a bit more.
Another team that jumps out at Andy is Baltimore, who are at 20-1 odds. They also have shown steady improvements under Harbaugh and with Flacco at QB.
Some other odds include Patriots at 7/1, Packers at 8/1, Denver 12/1.
Scott is possibly looking at the Eagles at 25/1, who will have a have a healthy Nick Foles back. The Steelers at 30/1 have also been getting some love and so have the Rams at 40/1, but the guys do wonder how far they can go without a solid QB, plus the fact that staying in St Louis is really in limbo right now.
Steve states that Parity really isn't in the NFL right now, because if you played all 8 division favorites at the start of the year to go over in the win totals, then you went 7-1.
Andy is also looking at the Chargers and Chiefs, especially with Denver expected to be down. Andy also says to keep an eye on the Bills, who showed improvements this year and now has a new coach. They could be a play on team this year.
