Kinda hard finding different ways to say the same thing. LOL
This super bowl was the most watched TV program in U.S. history, while the late game call by Seattle has been called the dumbest call in U.S. History by some.
Scott didn't have a problem that they chose to throw the football, but the quick slant was not the right call. He feels that Wilson is one of the smartest QBs in the league and rolling him out with a run/pass option would have been a much better call.
Andy feels that Seattle did so many things to lose this game. They have the best defense in football and were up 24-14 in the 4th quarter of the game. They should have slammed the door on the Pats. Seattle should have tried to run the ball more with the big lead and take more time off the clock than they did. As it turns out they took just 55 seconds off the clock and then their tired defense just couldn't stop Brady on his game winning drive. As far as the play at the 1 yard line he felt they should have thrown a little flare pass to Lynch, like the one that gained 30 yards to start the drive.
Andy feels that Pete Carroll was just more concerned with leaving Brady no time on the clock than he was in scoring.
Steve disagrees completely. He agrees that the play selection was poor for Seattle in that spot and that the Seattle clock management was just spot on good. Steve feels that Seattle did everything right at the end of the game, except the play selection.
Andy states that running the clock down is good if Seattle needed just 3 for the Tie or win, but not when they needed a TD. Andy says that New England should be given props for the gameplan they had.
Steve and Andy both feel that New England was the better team in this game, but still New England blew some clock management during the game and they just got lucky that it didn't come back to haunt them.
