We also crack up every year when all of these services around the country post their “100,000 Star Locks” on the Super Bowl, which will be played later this afternoon between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. The Super Bowl is annually the most wagered-on sporting event in the world and the line is generally as tight as you will ever find. The game is completely over-analyzed by experts and novices alike and no stone is left unturned. So we are never going to be an adviser that recommends to take out a second mortgage because we have this great “inside information” on the game. The best we can do here is analyze what we think is important and give you our best choice for the game. That said, we are going to side with the Patriots in this game. We are having a hard time getting the Packers dominance over the Hawks for about 55 minutes out of our head and think that the Seahawks are going to have similar problems with the Patriots. New England will make things difficult for the Seattle defense because of their true balance and inability to focus on one guy. On the other side of the ball, we think the real key to this game is going to be Darrelle Revis for New England, who is one of the best shutdown corners in the league and will render his side of the field unplayable. Seattle doesn’t have enough quality as wide receiver to keep the Patriots defense honest, meaning New England will able to key in on the run and stopping Marshawn Lynch and spying Russell Wilson. We do like the Under 47 a bit, although much of the value there has left this morning as there has been some downward pressure on that number. In the end, we believe the Patriots have an advantage at quarterback and head coach (although Wilson and Pete Carroll are both great) and really believe Belichick, with two weeks to prepare, will provide a confusing look for Wilson and the Seahawks offense. We see a 24-21 Patriots win. The biggest thing is we hope to have a great Super Bowl and encourage you to “bet with your head” here and mainly enjoy what should be a fantastic game! The Sharps say…
3 Units – New England Patriots (Pk)
Side Note: We know that some of you like to play the Super Bowl props. To be honest, we generally don’t play those…but we do have two props that we think are worth considering:
Danny Amendola – Over 2.5 Receptions (+110)
Tom Brady – Over 2 TD Passes (+100)
