Butler v. UNC (-10.5 Total 138 5 Dimes)
High noon tipoff in the Bahamas. I think the location and time of this game gives an edge to Butler. They are the more experienced and older team which will assist them in this difficult spot. Both teams come into this meeting without playing much competition thus far. With stiffer competition, the defense will improve and contest some of the easy looks they have been getting thus far. All things considered, this is a spot that is taylor-made for a Butler team. I will take the 10 points plus the hook and look for the Bulldogs to scap out a W against the spread.
BUTLER +10.5
Oklahoma v. UCLA (-3.5 Total 153.5 5 dimes)
Game two tips at 230. UCLA has been crushing teams thus far. They have covered 3 out of the 4 games early in the season and are avg. a ridiculous 95 PPG. Oklahoma has beaten up on two weak opponents and lost a game they should have won @ Creighton. Buddy Heild has the potential to be one of the top players in the Big 12 this year.I think the Sooner will get more efficient looks at the basket. It is also a tough spot for a road team for Cali after a long flight playing at essentially what is 1130am their time.
OKLAHOMA -3.5
UAB v. WISCONSIN (-23.5 Total 130.5)
If the first games taught you anything, it's that these rims are tough. I watched all four squads struggle from the floor. Wiscy has held teams to 31, 45, 60, and 54 thus far. They have covered some monster spreads but this UAB team has some athleticism that their previous opponents lacked. That said, they have no shot of keeping this close. The spread scares me a little only because I think it will be low scoring. Make no mistake, Wisconsin is in this thing to win it all, not beat UAB. I think the Badgers get an early lead and play the game in cruise control the majority of the 2nd half, conserving some energy and minutes for the upcoming slate. I know it's low, but I see this game ending in the low 120's.
UNDER 130.5
Florida vs. Georgetown (-1.5 Total 127.5)
Should be another low scoring defensive game in this one. Gators lost a heartbreaker to the Canes already, a game in which I watched every second. Florida was the better team, and wins that matchup 9 out of 10 times IMO, but that kid just caught fire at the perfect time. That said, their defense has brought it this season, holding opponents to 56 ppg. The Hoyas has shown some ability to score more efficiently this season, but I question their competition. Georgetown doesn't shoot well from deep, they never have. I see this one coming down to the finish, and Florida has the experience edge (even though they lost) in late game situations this early in the year. I like the Gators in a mild upset to win outright.
