2/15 I have a couple of dogs I'm interested in, not necessarily going to play them all...I like a lot of favorites tonight. I haven't laid any cash yet, but I have a busy day, so I may not get to post later. Also, I'm off to a rough start this week with my posts here, after droppin it like it was hot last week. I gotta trust the process.
My Dog of the Day: George Washington. I totally dig them in this spot against Davidson. Davidson doesn't do it for me. Also, this George Washington team has been playing together lately. Davidson loves chucking up shots. If they are wicked hot, they will win, and by a lot. But even an avg. shooting night and this thing stays close. They took down VCU, but other than that their wins in the A-10 are SLU, Fordham, Dusquense, and St. Josephs...All bottom feeders. This could be a close game, and Davidson has a good shot at pulling it out. But with G-Dub getting 7pts, I'll take my chances here. I'm George Washington +7.
Some other random thoughts in my head:
The X-men got rolled up by Villanova. They are headed to Providence. Providence, is an under performing team. I think we have reached that Point of No Return part of the season, where, maybe instead of under-performing, they just are who they are. Inconsistent. Able to go toe to toe with anyone, but when you think they may turn it around, they take a steaming deuce. One thing that worries me here is that Providence has taken down a couple of revenge games. But, I am just not impressed with Providence. If Bluiett doesn't go, Xavier could be in trouble. This may just be the game the wheels fall off....But what I have seen from this Xavier team all year is grit. That says something, and that's why I won't bet against them. They fought back against Creighton, a game they had no business winning at Creighton a couple of weeks ago. And they played tough against Villanova after the Bluiett injury, but in the end Villanova is one of the best, if not the best, team in the country for a reason. I think Xavier either takes this game down, or gets blown out of the gym. They are a gritty team that has some heart. I can get behind that. Chances are, I'm staying away. Lean X-men +3 (w/ bluiett...Run the opposite direction without him)
I don't know a ton about the big 12. From a fan standpoint, I hate them. I am a Big 10 guy and I also love me some A10 basketball. Anyway, in my opinion, Oklahoma State should beat TCU. I don't have much analysis other than that. like I said, I'm not a huge Big 12 guy, so I could be off on this one. But, from what I know, I'm leaning, and probably will be laying something small, probably a US Grant on Oklahoma State +1.5. Also, Kansas State...I have no faith in Bruce Weber, or that team. I constantly saw Bruce Weber when he was at Illinois lose must win games. Iowa State getting 4.5 here...intrigues me so.
Anyway...just my thoughts, but as they say, that's why they play the games.
