Virginia's weakness was the team reliance on perimeter shooting, and in both the ACC tournament in the second half against North Carolina, and again, here against Syracuse, the team got tired against the zone defense and could not hit perimeter shots late in the game. The zone defense wears teams down and enables teams playing zone to have more energy, which was a huge advantage since the Virginia had no depth and only 1 day off. North Carolina has a strong balance between inside scoring and perimeter shooting and North Carolina has already played Syracuse twice, dominating the first matchup, and barely winning the second game before playing D North Carolina will have a full week off and should control the boards against an undersized Syracuse tem
