The Bettors really benefited from the end of that game. The Bookmakers really lost because of the foul call. The Pro's were mostly on Utah, but allot more of the public was on the Duke side.
Can the case be made that this was a conspiracy. Dave feels no. This was a coinflip call at the end of the game. If they don't make the call than the people on Duke's side would scream conspiracy as well. Either way at the end of the game there was going to be conspiracy theorists coming out. Dave says t was a foul and they called it. Gee isn't what what refs are supposed to do?
Teddy also says that it really wasn't a bad beat, but more of a tough beat. Utah was not really in that game till the end and still Duke missed that first free Throw before draining the 2nd one that gave them the cover. Teddy feels that the only real this is a conspiracy in people's minds is that the players and coaches were shaking hands when the refs were looking to put time back on the clock.
