I like the Stars in this spot, as I believe they will be playing for more than just a playoff spot tonight. They will be playing for a fellow comrade Richard Peverley, who suffered a heart attack last night during the game with Columbus. The game was cancelled as I believe everyone was shocked to see this unfortunate event unfold. "The players don't want to play, and I don't want to coach the team right now." Said head coach Lindy ruff. I don't blame them as as anybody witnessing such a scene would have numerous emotions running through them or absolutely none at all which can be very debilitating as well. However, surprisingly enough as humans beings we are very resilient and able to adapt and overcome many tragic situations that come are way. The Stars have had some time to collect themselves, gather their thoughts and harness their emotions in a positive way. Ruff said in a press conference after the game "When they were taking rich away on the stretcher he asked is the 1st period over yet?" To be honest i was almost brought to tears when I heard this. Here's a guy who doesn't know if he's going to live or die and he's worried about his teammates and the game. If that doesnt inspire a team I don't know what will. Look for the stars to give all they've got tonight because tonight they will be playing more than just a game.
Ziggy out....
