My bookie makes up random rules as we go along, all of which favor him (arbitrary settlement dates that oppose our normal schedule, rulings not covered under normal book rules (see USC game last year))
My bookie calls me "kind sir" (Every single time I've called someone that, I've done so with the intention of being demeaning, thus I take it that way when others say it).
He thinks he can talk me into being a gambling addict that bets shitty lines by texting me and telling me I have to bet more often, especially during Baseball season while he offers 20-cent lines.
That's why I hate my bookie.
And I hate all online books, 100% due to customer service.
Bookmaker lost all of my credit card verifications, claiming they had changed systems and no longer had the documents on file. They claimed I couldn't receive a payout without those on file (I understand that's clearly stated). The issue I had was that one of the cards I had used a couple years ago, I no longer have (closed the account). Rather than work with me, they told me they wouldn't authorize a payout (multiple reps told me this, and that's how it stands today). Keep in mind I had already sent the authorization for this card in the past, while I still had it.
Sportsbetting had mistake lines the entire time I bet with them. I had three instances where I bet into a mistake line (knowing they were way off from the rest of the market). The first time, it won. They contacted me and reversed the win (understandable). The next two times, my bets lost. I contacted them, and they refused to handle the bets in the same manor. (we're talking lines that were all exactly 10 points off the market price. ex. Rice as a 31 point dog as opposed to 21 in CBB). After the second time it went against me, obviously I left.
Bovada is inconsistent with payouts. I've been with them the longest. Had some payouts take 4 business days. But on two instances I've had payouts take over two months. Unacceptable, especially when the approval notice states an expected 10-14 days.
I understand the feeling that books are OK to charge juice because they have expenses also, but at the same time... If you're going to charge like an everyday service business, you need to provide a QUALITY service across all aspects of the business. Books tend to think they are exempt from quality service standards because they are dealing with gamblers. Which is why I/we hate them.
At the same time, I concede that I'm a stubborn cunt that is bothered way more than I should be by people that don't treat their customers with respect and consideration :) And that's the disconnect, I think of myself as a customer to that individual/companies business. Others see a bookie as someone that helps them get their fix, and therefore has unconditional love for em... Or a friend that you're betting heads up with. I can see the latter two being reasons why you wouldn't hate your book.
I just took way too much time writing this because the living room tv is tuned to some bullshit about conjoined twins.
