Thanks Jeff for getting the numbers and organizing them in a way that can be easily analyzed. Why this isn't the standard on the pro's pages is no mystery as is also why pregame refuses to track their GOY, GOM etc. plays and post them too. But that's an argument that's been hashed and rehashed here in the forum.
As it was, Scott made a claim on twitter which I doubted was accurate. I went to his pro page and the record there did not reflect his claim. I posted a screen capture of that page. I emailed RJ asking for clarification to which he still has not responded. So I posted it in this thread.
As it turns out, Scott's record - or at least the record that excludes his free plays is accurate enough for this debate, so in all sincerity I offer my apology to Scott, pregame, and the community at large for daring to cast aspersions on his character, pregame, and that of the pick selling industry. Obviously, I feel that pregame could go much further in providing current, accurate, and relevant records, but that would undoubtedly hurt sales. I get that. It makes good business sense so I'll just have to deal with it. I don't want to imply that pregame is just another tout shop fleecing the unsuspecting, but as was noted by RJ earlier, " I know the history of the industry is dark … " and he knows there's still work to do. Transparency is relative and pregame is very selective as to what they are willing to disclose.
Personally, I appreciate the opportunity pregame has afforded me to participate and interact with many of the pros and great forum posters. I've learned a lot and I hope I've helped others in their CBB handicapping, but as we all know, I will voice my opinion when I think something is not on the up and up.
So to conclude, I hope Scotty will accept the apology and I hope RJ learns that just because someone voices criticism or an opinion that differs from his, it does not make them a "Hater."
