Gents:
IF YOU WERE ME:
Thought I would get your feedback. I am thinking of taking the 2015 MLB season off. I have not had a summer off in 22 years, weekends and late night nights working all through the summer, 7 days a week, anyone who caps a daily sport like MLB knows the drill in order to have a good record and ect...it is a lot of work.
My daughter is 17 and entering her final year of High School (and we have had the typical teenage rebellion with her, but not out of hand) and my wife has asked me to travel and vacation and spend quality time as a family, as we lose her to college next year, and my Son in 20 and a Junior in college in the state of Washington who I see twice a year which is not enough and my fault. Hiking and camping in the Pacific Northwest is on the agenda, he is an avid outdoorsman, and accomplished rock climber and also a musician who plays in a very popular band in the Seattle area whom I have never seen play live as well.
MLB is not a big seller for most cappers (just my opinion and experience) as the general public does not like moneyline wagering for the most part. Financially is not life or death by any means. I also want to prepare for a 2015 football season without distraction as last year was just so/so and out of the gate I started slow, so I am determined to have one of my best years ever in football and that takes preparation.
While the NBA will carry me through July with plays it basically is like 6 weeks off. I also still host a radio show for Yahoo Sports every week which is a lot of prep as well. Re-charge the battery perhaps and spend time with my kids and create memories?
Family is always #1 with everyone and if not then you just do not get it. I know this and I am prepared to clear my mind, enjoy less hours and dedicate myself with added time to enjoy my old years with my kids and re-bond as a family. That requires this summer and MLB off because with limited focus I cannot produce a quality product nor would I want to offer plays with limited focus, not fair to clients. I would post a weekly play Free and offer some takes (I have content contracts elsewhere) and stay in the mix, but day to day, 10 hours a day stuff may not allow me to meet my families wishes.
Your takes?
