I appreciate David taking the high road in this issue.
I have no idea nor will I speculate as to the personal dynamics in this relationship, but there is one dynamic I'd like to toss into the fray and that is the notion that some extremely talented and ambitious athletes, entrepreneurs, and social creatures have ingrained into their personality a win-at-all-costs mentality. I know Barry Bonds is not a popular figure, but I've heard him and others talk about that single-minded focus that has no time for anything other than winning. He did not want his focus interrupted. Tiger Woods had that. Michael Jordan and many other great personalities had it too. I really know nothing about Billy Walters, but what I have read and seen on TV is, he's as competitive as they come and would do anything within the furthest reaches of the rules to win. I can respect that. And I think David was spot on when he commented that maybe Billy felt threatened. I don't know. But what I do think is important is this is a unique human being who sees the world differently than you and I, and plays on a level you and I cannot comprehend. I not only accept that, I appreciate that there are those unique beings who are blessed and at the same time cursed with that ability and insight. Billy Walters lives in his own heaven and his own hell.
Mr. Malinsky is doing just fine and I'm sorry he has to stick up for himself. It should never have happened, but maybe we can all learn something from this incident. Keep on trucking' DM.
