(Tennessee -20) - I’ll be the first to say that I’m not a fan of Dobbs and I don't think he’s a guy that can lead this hyped team to the promise land esp under a head coach who is a great recruiter and hasn't shown much of coaching. But, they are all experienced and battle tested and think they come out of the gates at home and show the country the pre-season ranking and hype is right. Vols roll.
(Texas A&M -2.5) - Okay, let me say that I’m one of the biggest fans of Josh Rosen as he already has the #1 pick locked up in the 2018 draft as he looks like the next Manning, Luck. (esp with the new pro-style OC he’ll continue to improve). But, Texas A&M is 26-2 in home openers. They never struggle early they always come out hot, get a lot of hype then end up 8-4, but they always start hot and I expect that to continue on Kyle Field. Garrett might have 3 sacks and I personally think the WR core at A&M can be the best in the country and Knight has shown he can ball on a big stage. I think this team could be somewhat of a surprise. 12th man wins it in a close back and forth game.
(LSU -9) - I’m just going to make this one short, Fournette puts the state of Louisiana on his back after all the flooding, he shows out for his home state to give them hope. Also, bringing back 17 starters this LSU team is loaded and think Harris takes a big step forward in his 3rd year…I tend to drink the LSU kool-aid every year while you all drink the Oklahoma kool-aid. LSU speed/athletes/defense shines against the Big Ten.
(Boston College +3.5) - They had a top defense last year and return key players to have a top 10 defense again this year. They add Patrick Towles (UK Grad Transfer) at QB which should help this ugly offense a year ago into one that improves dramatically. BC D-line should hold their own against the triple option esp with the whole off-season to prepare. I like the value with the 3.5.
(Notre Dame -3) - First, forget about the arrests and suspensions, Devin Studstill (early enrollee) was running with the 1’s during spring and fall camp pushing Redfield, also the 4 others should be available to play but none starters, way too much overreaction. Kelly at ND is 29-1 when he runs the ball 55% time or more. 20-0 when run ball 60% of time or better. Since 2000, ND is 49-6 when rushing for more than 200 yards…LY vs Texas rushed for 219, the media will talk about the QB “drama” when it won’t be an issue when they come out running the rock with Folston back off ACL and Adams (835 yards 6 TD as Frosh). They will own this game upfront alone. Also, Jarron Jones(DT), Jay Hayes (DE) and Shaun Crawford(DB) back from ACL on defense. This is the 3rd year under DC VanGorder, in the 3rd year under Bob Diaco the Irish were 2nd in FBS with 12.77 ppg in 2012. Expect a much improved defense with a better grasp in year 3. Nyles Morgan (5star MLB) replaces Smith. Also, I could never bet on Swoopes, if he is the starting QB, idk how he received a Division 1 scholarship let alone a big power like Texas, which means a true freshman could see significant time which is even better. People won’t consider special teams when placing a bet, but ND with Yoon (52 long FG LY) and Newsome to flip the field and play field position. I’ll lay just a FG on the road.
(South Carolina vs Vanderbilt Under 42.5)
BOL to everyone this year whether you fade or follow, just happy College Football is back. Best time of the year. Also, might add a team that I think will ROLL in Jerry's World but waiting to see on a number. (Added Alabama -11.5)
