Dave's number 1 takeaway in College football this past week, was Mike Leach's poor coaching decisions in their loss to Arizona State.
In the game the Cougars had a 2 TD lead and were on the road with a redshirt freshman QB, and Mike should have slowed the game down, but he didn't and they lost the game big. Mike really seemed more concerned with the stat sheet than winning the game and protecting his young QB. Dave Malinsky seems negative about Leach's coaching ability. He stats that leach is a great offensive coach, but not a very good defensive coach and that has hurt his team. He is good at coaching the passing game, but not much else.
Another takeaway was in the Baylor/ Oklahoma State game in which the Cowboys were forced to take the Redshirt off of Mason Rudolph, who they were trying to hold off using him this year as it has been a lost year for the Cowboys. Rudolph is a much better QB than Garmin and don't be surprised if the give the Sooners a tough battle in Norman next week. Dave Cokin states that Gundy may have done this on purpose knowing that he won't be with the team next year, as he has had problems with the AD.
