Take a look at the 39.5 spread between East Carolina and NC Central. I'm an East Carolina fan but don't think that they will cover this many points. They could, if they wanted to. I just don't think they want to. NC Central is a Historically Black College in Durham, NC which doesn't really recruit against ECU and the coaches know each other due to a luncheon series that includes North Carolina, Duke, NC State, NC Central and East Carolina. There is no rivalry in this matchup, no recruiting battle to win and no fan base bragging rights on the line. I'm not trying to put down NC Central, I'm just saying that this is inter-state game without the normal inter-state rivalry.
Also, East Carolina has a trip to South Carolina on deck for next Saturday. They won't show anything today and just focus on getting reps for their new RB and offensive lineman. They'll try to get Justin Hardy enough catches to keep him on pace to brake Ryan Broyles career receptions mark but that's about it. I don't expect our first teamers to see the mid-way point of the 3rd quarter.
East Carolina may cover this game but they won't try to. My money is on NC Central plus 39.5.
