Phillies @ Mets -- Philadelphia’s Aaron Nola is coming off a two-start stretch where he allowed just 1 run and five hits to the Padres and Marlins. Nola has a 3.26 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in eight starts for Philadelphia overall. New York’s Matt Harvey has allowed just 1 earned run in his last three starts. Harvey has struggled a bit with the Phillies who have touched him up for 3 earned runs in each of his two starts against them. The team is hoping to limit Harvey’s innings, so this outing may be shortened a bit. Still, I’ll lean Under 7 (-110) in this game.
Pirates @ Brewers -- Zach Davies will make his Major League debut for the Brewers on Wednesday night. Davies went 6-8 with a 3.30 ERA in 23 starts for two different Triple-A teams. The righty had 102 strikeouts to 45 walks in those outings. His problem has been allowing too many baserunners by giving up 129 hits in 128.1 innings of work. Pittsburgh will start Jeff Locke who is 2-1 in three starts against Milwaukee this season. I lean to the Pirates (-140) in this game.
Angels @ A’s -- Oakland’s Sonny Gray is 5-1 with a 2.69 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in nine career starts versus the Angels. He last faced them back on June 19th, giving up 6 runs and five hits in six innings of work. That was his worst outing against the Angels, but I expect a much better performance in this game. Gray has great numbers against Mike Trout and Albert Pujols who are each 4-for-25 against the Oakland ace. A’s (-145) is the side I like in this game.
Indians @ Blue Jays -- Toronto’s R.A. Dickey is 6-0 with a 3.07 ERA in his last nine starts. He has been extremely effective while throwing eight quality starts in his last ten outings. However, his last two non-quality starts have come recently in Philadelphia and Anaheim. Dickey is 7-3 with a 3.36 ERA in 14 home starts for the Blue Jays, so he can be trusted more than not in this game. The knuckleballer beat the Indians at home last year after holding them to 2 earned runs and four hits in six innings of work. Toronto (-175) is the only way I would play this game.
