The Indians have been locked in offensively the past month posting a team OPS near .800. Their 11.5% team walk rate is easily the highest in baseball over that span, 1.6 points higher than the second place Dodgers. At the beginning of the season, their pitchers all had pretty ugly ERA's, but the advanced metrics suggested they were pitching a lot better than those ERAs showed. The two problems that have yet to be solved are the defense and bullpen. Both have been dreadful pretty much all year, but also outline why the Indians have been, and will likely continue to be an OVER team going forward. In a case like tonight, with a red-hot Corey Kluber on the mound, I'll take a look at a Cleveland -1.5 (+135) ticket, hoping that they won't need much work from that shaky bullpen.
Going forward...
Look for Cleveland to acquire a quality bullpen arm or two, and get ready to start firing on the Tribe before the market catches up.
