TOP PLAYS
3 UNIT PLAYS
LA Dodgers/ San Diego Under 7 (-110): Both offenses are struggling mightily right now as the Padres come in having scored just 3 runs in their last 4 games, while the Dodgers have scored just 6 total runs in their last 7 games. Two struggling offenses will meet some solid pitching in this one as Carlos Frias has an ERA of 2.38 in this 2 starts in his park, while James Shields is getting it together, having allowed just 3 ERs total in his last 2 starts. These starters are not perfect, but these offenses have faced some weaker pitching than this at times of late and have still failed to score some runs. The Under is 21-10 the last 31 meetings and I see that continuing here.
Boston/ LA Angels Under 9 (-110): There have been a ton of runs scored in the first two games of this series, but I see the pitching getting the upper hand in this one. Hector Santiago has been excellent this year overall and has allowed 1 ER or less in 6 of his last 7 starts. His ERA in his last 3 starts is 0.93, while his ERA on the road is 2.84. He will be facing a Red Sox team that has hit just .186 vs lefties at home this year. I can't see the Red Sox getting many runs here. For the Sox they are sending out Wade Miley, who has pitched better of late as he has a 2.75 ERA in his last 3 starts and the Halos are not a really good hitting team overall, especially on the road where they are hitting just .229 for the year. The Under is 16-5 in the Sox last 21 games vs a left handed starter and I see that trend continuing here.
2 Team Parlay (Risking 3 Units To Win 5.04) ChiCubs -137 & Cleveland -182
BEST OF THE REST
NY Yanks/ Texas Over 8.5 (-125): These two teams have put up 19 runs in each of the first 2 games of this series and i don't expect the offenses to stop tonight. Chris Capuano get the start for the Yanks and he was hit hard in his lone start this year, allowing 4 ERs in just 3 innings of work. Chris has a lifetime 4.32 ERA as a starter and he has a 5.06 ERA in 11 games (9 starts) in this park. Gallardo gets the not for the Rangers and he comes in with a 4.97 ERA on the road and a 4.67 ERA in his last 3 starts. Behind these starters are a couple of pens that are also struggling as the Rangers have a bullpen ERA of 4.55 in their last 10 games, while the Yanks pen ERA is 6.55 over the same stretch. The Rangers have averaged 5.70 rpg in their last 10 games, while the Yanks have averaged 4.72 rpg at home for the year. This one shapes up as another slugfest.
