Saturday Bases
LA Angels - 115 ~ Lefty CJ Wilson gets the baseball for the visiting Angels in Boston tonight and will look to secure a winning eastern road trip with a victory on Saturday. Wilson has only 2 wins in 2015 but has pitched a lot better than his 2-2 record suggests. In 4 road starts, the left handed hurler has pitched to a 2.36 ERA and 1.01 WHIP whilst holding opposing line-ups to a stingy 0.198 BA. Wilson also has pitched well against the Red Sox throughout his career, going 6-2 with a 2.64 ERA in 10 career starts (teams are 8-2). Boston come into Saturday having faced a left handed starter on 12 occasions this season, they are just 5-7 whilst averaging a mere 3.2 runs per game. The Red Sox have a combined 0.225 BA when facing southpaw starters. The Angels have won 11 of their last 13 games at Fenway Park and I really believe the value is on the Halos again on Saturday.
Miami Marlins - 110 ~ Miami comes into Saturday on the heels of an 8 game losing streak and they send righty Dan Haren to the mound tonight hoping to stop the rot. Haren has been solid in 4 outings at Marlins Park in 2015; he is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 0.76 WHIP. The Marlins offense has started to show signs of life again over the last couple of games, recording double digit hit games on Thursday and Friday but still leaving 20 runners on base. The Orioles send Mike Wright to the hill and is coming off a 7 1/3 inning shut-out performance against the Angels. I think the sportsbooks have this line slightly out form where it should be, in my view, the Marlins should be (-120) at least. Their 8 game losing streak is on the line and they have the right pitcher on the mound tonight to pick up that elusive first win for their new manager.
