Big public play on Cards but I would play with caution. A lot of information favor the cards. Both times Wood played against Cards this year, the cubs got out to an early lead and cards were never able to catch up. One game ended 17-5, the other game ended 6-5; Cubs won both. Cards do not have Molina, who hits very well against Wood. This season, home teams are 6-3.
Cubs bats are fairly cold right now as they have averaged 3.4 runs L/5 games against
Miley (LP;4.16ERA; 1.23 WHIP), Loss 3-9
Collmenter (RP; 3.64era; 1.24WHIP), Loss 2-3
Stults (LP; 5.00era; 1.46 WHIP) Won 6-0
Ian Kennedy (RP; 3.66era; 1.22WHIP) Loss 3-8
Ross (RP; 2.65era; 1.16WHIP). Loss 3-13
Only win vs. Stults where they went 11-34 and scored 6 runs. Joe Kelly (RP; 2.84era; 1.30WHIP) should pitch well vs. cubs. AND Kelly just pitched a very good game vs the Dodgers
Cards' bats are even colder averaging 2.4 runs in L/5 games.
Haren (RP; 4.49era; 1.31WHIP) Won 3-2
Greinke (RP; 2.90era; 1.21WHIP) Won 4-2
Kershaw (LP; 1.92era; 0.84WHIP) Loss 3-4
Odorizzi (RP; 3.97era; 1.34WHIP) Loss 2-7
Cobb (RP; 3.76era; 1.21WHIP) Loss 0-3
Cards have face much better pitchers though so I think they will Wood (LP; 5.12era; 1.53WHIP) will struggle today and the cards bat wake up. If the Cards can avoid giving up an early lead, they will win.
There's enough information for me to play this game smaller. This could be a public trap but i'll take my chances. This would be a bigger play is Molina was in the lineup and if cards bats weren't slumping. Good luck
