It may be bad karma to start a new thread with a rant, so we'll just end the old one that way. Stack that Green, folks!
Colorado Rockies (+135) ~ I wouldn't wait on this one. Dodgers cannot hit LHP (.207) and both Gordon and Puig (.306 vs LHP) left yesterday's game. FTR ~ This would almost certainly be a double-play, but with a Rockies Series' play pending we'll leave it at that. Despite their recent offensive (yes, offensive) funk, they still hit southpaws at a near .300 clip. It may very well be a forgettable outing for ol' Clayton? Don't confuse it, though....this is not the Kershaw of old. Expect this one loses ten to twenty cents of value before first pitch probably with RLM? Los Angeles Dodgers....if you don't like Colorado probably best to just leave the game alone?
**Colorado Rockies +1.5 (-125)
Team to score first in the game will be;
Colorado Rockies (+150) - Stupid play. That 1st inning looks a lot more valuable right about now ~ Not enough value in the "first inning run", so I had to go with this. C'mon DLR....hold 'em down for one inning
Colorado Rockies Over 3½ (-125) ~ Not suggesting putting too many eggs in one basket, but this TT at Coors is crazy....Kershaw notwithstanding, IMO.
**Detroit Tigers (-135) ~ About as high as I'll go on a ML play, but with Anibal in Prime-Time, I expect something special. Careful with Big Papi......
Atlanta Braves/Arizona Diamondbacks Under 8½ (-115) ~ Very possible upgrade. I do believe young Chase remains undefeated.
Philadelphia Phillies/Cincinnati Reds Over 8 (-120) ~ Note that I'd lay this off and bite the bullet on the juice now. Despite my work, the numbers have gotten far too scary for me to piss it ALL away. Homer with a gem?
With Series' props pending on the A's and Tribe we will pass on straight plays. FWIW ~ Although I expect Oakland and Kaz to take care of business After some further inspection, the reverse L/M (and DE) would now keep me OFF of Oakland and I am not overly confident in the Indians facing a lefty on the road. Masterson has the goods, so he'd best bring 'em here. This one could easily go either way, IMO. The Indians are 1-10 in their last 11 road games vs a left-handed starter. I will actually be VERY happy with a split here now. Expect a crazy finish at Camden and for some reason JJ comes to mind, although after pitching yesterday we will hopefully not see him. Still think the A's lead early, though.
Texas Rangers Over 4½ (-115)
New York Yankees (+105) Mini - Shields earned it pitching out of that jam ~ This is an estimate, but should be within a nickel. I do think that Kuroda will hold the Royals down long enough for the Bombers to scratch out a couple. With a cloud of doom hanging over the Yanks' pen, we'll leave them on the bench today. Mariano's boy drafted by the Yankees....talk about big shoes to fill?
From yesterday;
St Louis Cardinals (+135) ~ To say that Hutchison has been ineffective at the Rogers Center is being overly kind and I do not like what I am seeing today. He has had a LOT of trouble with the long-ball at home and that may continue.
Houston Astros (+100) Mini ~ I'll take McHugh to out-duel Deduno early....all day, any day. I expect the 'Stros DO hold on, but the mini appears to be the better look. Chance to break out the Houston bats before leaving town? Expect a decently pitched game and will also be looking hard at the Under 4½ (-115) Mini.
Milwaukee Brewers (-115) ~ Due to my uncertainty with Locke this will be strictly a parlay add. Brewers not exactly a lefty-slayer, but again I cannot back the Under without having seen him. It will, however, be that or nothing. Facts are facts and we have discussed it a dozen times. The Bucs cannot and do not hit in matinee performances (.270 OB%). When combined with Gallardo's miserly 1.42 ERA in day games, the Pirates may not get an early sniff. Whiffs, probably......9 RHBs for Locke to navigate. Oddly enough, historically he's had more success facing them.
Probably shuttin' it down early today before y'all get TOO spoiled.....LOL
Just south of 25/1; just north of 6/1;
Houston Astros (+100)
Texas Rangers (-102) Mini
Colorado Rockies +1½ (-130)
Arizona Diamondbacks (-105)
Washington Nationals (-124)
