In this Segment Bryan and RJ debate over where you bet a number vs the close is super telling as to how good that play is.
Bryan states that just because the Odds on Cleveland have dropped to 3/1 that they are not the best team in the NBA. It just means the books had to balance it out more after taking all the money when Cleveland was much longer odds.
RJ asks Bryan if he is in the contingent of handicappers that states where you bet a number vs the close is super telling as to how good that play is. Bryan says that as long as you are betting the closing line then you should be able to win.
RJ then states that that means the the Closing number is the most telling about what the true number should be. RJ wonders if we can't say that the market is the market and that there are factors pushing one way or the other way. Bryan dispassionately agrees. LOL
In Vegas there are very sharp numbers in town and the Cavs are right there in all of them, so generally the market is saying that the Cavs are one of the best teams in the league. Bryan strongly disagrees this time and states that it is to early for the market to tell anything. Bryan thinks the Cavs are the 3rd best team in the East.
RJ asks Bryan if the Heat from last year (Players 2-12) vs the Cavs from this year (Players 2-12), who would win in a 7 game series and Bryan says without hesitation that the Cavs would. THis is the 5th straight year that a Lebron led team is favored to win the Title. Cleveland has so many good young players and they have a deeper bench then Miami by far.
