The NBA Draft will take place in a few short hours, so Dave and Scott will give a little preview here. Scott likes to watch the first 10 picks and that is mainly to see if anything crazy goes on.
Anthony Townes is the heavy favorite to go first in the Draft, while Okafor should go 2nd. There is some talk that Okafor is closing in on Townes for the top spot, but Scott doesn't see it that way.
Jay Bilas says that it's a close call between the two, but Townes is the more versatile of the two. Okafo is a better low post player though and that is something you really need in the NBA, but he does have question marks like FT shooting and he is not a great defensive player. Still Jay does value his offensive play over the total package of Townes.
Could Kaminski go to the Knicks? Scott feels they would be out of their mind if that happens. Phil Jackson could do that as he will be trying to do everything he can to get Lamarcus Aldridge into a Knick uniform. Still Dave expects him to go to the Spurs.
Dave's main interest is to see where Rashad Vaughn and Chris Wood go. Both guys are from UNLV.
Scott would not be shocked if the Lakers take DeAngelo Russell and bypass Okafor. They were not impressed with him the 2nd time around that they saw him. The Lakers are -500 to take Okafor with the 2nd pick. Russell is likely to go 3rd though.
Talk seems to be that the Celts will trade up and they may also be going after Kevin Love, but Scott feels that he may stay with the Cavs.
Scott feels that the top 3 picks will go Townes, Oakafor and Russell.
Dekker (Wisconsin) may go before Kaminski (Wisconsin), according to recent rumblings.
