Last night was a thriller in the end as the Warriors held on for the 1 point win to take a 2-0 lead in this series as it now shifts back to Houston.
The Warriors had a big lead in the second quarter, but Houston just didn't give up and they nearly pulled off the upset in the end.
Harden had a great game, but just couldn't come up with the final shot to win the game. Teddy feels that McHale has done a great job with this Houston squad this year and it clear that these two teams are not DD apart, which the first two spreads indicated. It is hard to find value on the Warriors as the market is viewing them as a truly elite team.
Scott was glad that Mchale didn't call a timeout in the final play, and it was just an unfortunate play that didn't allow Harden to get off the last shot.
Teddy states that the Warriors shot 53% in the game and also felt that Klay Thompson's defense wasn't the problem. Scott disagrees and felt that he got his butt kicked in the game. Harden just went off in the game and hit both contested and uncontested shots.
During the second quarter Scott saw the Warriors celebrating when they got the big lead like they just won game 7. That clearly shows that this is a team not used to being here. From that point on they really seemed to have lost some of their rhythm in the game.
Teddy states that this is 2 games in a row that the Warriors offense has struggled down the stretch of the game. That has allowed the Rockets to make it a very interesting last couple minutes of the game. During the regular season Golden State would be able to hit the shots to put teams away late in the game, but that isn't happening here.
Teddy does state that he saw Howard not be as explosive as he has in the past and that may be a factor moving forward.
