Teddy and RJ have been over this plenty of time before. Does public money really influence the betting market and if so by how much.
Dave states that there is plenty of non-pro money that is affecting the betting market in the NBA playoffs. Teddy has stated many times that he don't feel that Public money affects the market all that much (except for football).
RJ does feel that the Public does strongly affect the NFL. Teddy feels that some of the Public moneys seems to be affecting the post season numbers.
Big key here is around the globe. The NBA is really a global market right now. You can have the Pros vs Joes conversation, but the Pros aren't always the ones that make the big pets and public better are the ones that always make the smaller bet. You can see a guy lay 20,000 on a game just because he has the money to, but has no real opinion on the game.
That is a big difference. RJ states that Non-pro money could be effecting the market enough that their is some value in fading the moves. Teddy does agree that non-sharp money is moving the lines at some respect.
