-----------------------------------------
#1: Brooklyn Nets -2.5
The Nets played yesterday in the early game so they have a little more time to recover than the Pacers, who played theirs in the evening. Brooklyn is also a pretty deep team all of a sudden, with Deron Williams and Brook Lopez coming off the bench. Last year the Pacers swept the 4 games between these two teams. I expect the Nets to play with a ‘revenge angle’ tonight. The Pacers’ last few wins came against LAL, MIN, and NOP, teams that play virtually zero defense. Well, the Nets rank 12th in defensive efficiency and 11th in eFG%-allowed. I expect them to be a little fresher tonight as well as at home, and these are factors that should lead them to victory.
#2: Atlanta Hawks -4
These two teams met yesterday in ATL, where the Hawks were handed their most embarrassing loss of the season, losing by 30 points. Korver and Carroll combined to go 1 for 14 from the floor, Atlanta shot 17% from the 3PT line, they only had 20 assists in the game (one of their lower marks), and played very poorly defensively. Well, they don’t have to wait long to avenge that loss. These teams meet again today and I expect a different performance out of the Hawks. They are 8-4 ATS when avenging a loss this year, and 2-0 ATS when coming off an upset loss as a favorite. Expect a bounce-back effort here and I’ll back the better team in this one.
Good Luck
