Great post.
Crazy time of season. Trades happen without warning. If you're having some injuries or trouble, you pack it in early. Your mind is already on vacation. Smart managers know this and never assign tough projects on a Friday. It's human nature.
Then you have a team like The New Orleans Pelicans. It's having the opposite effect on them. Davis is getting 30 a night and the team has energy all 4 qtrs. I think it's because the All-Star game is in N.O. Rather unexpectedly.
You know that feeling you get in your stomach when you find out about an awesome house party happening in your neighborhood soon? Like a nervous excitement mixed with anticipation.
I think that's what The Pelicans are experiencing.
Im on them in Memphis tonight. Memphis just barley beat The Nets in what Conley called a 'must win' after the game. I think Memphis is happy and satisfied with their 1st half of the season, a natural letdown could occur, especially late in the game when everyone is tired and the stronger minds take over.
It's an interesting dynamic to me.
