This is so exciting! I will be adding my thoughts about some of the big NBA trades over the last week in my next blog post, but I wanted to provide you with the latest Referee Report heading into a full slate of NBA action tonight. We got killed by some trends evening out over the last week, most noteworthy the Kings and Hornets shooting the lights out last Friday. They combined for 24 3-pointers and scored 70 points in the 3rd quarter between them, killing our chances for an UNDER despite only 37 points being scored in the 4th. I will not be throwing out any more Triple Dime plays on these unless there is another very strong angle supporting it.
For example, there were some strong OVER refs in last night's Rockets/Cavs game yet the UNDER trends were way too strong, so I bet the UNDER and won a Single Dime play. Again, everything needs to align in order for a bigger play to be made, so please keep that in mind when betting these. One positive to report is that in the 6 games I have handicapped involving Ed Malloy/Mike Callahan/Tony Brothers, the underdog is 6-0 SU, which is something to consider when looking at the following numbers as well. (Keep in mind I did not factor any refs into consideration for my NBA Underdog Play O' the Day tonight - click here to get this pick for ONLY $5)
Here's the latest info updated through Thursday and sorted by top HOMER refs (click here for NBA referee schedule)...
I love this research on the refs. Keep putting it up as I think it is key to coming out ahead in the NBA.
Nice piece Matty. I was on the same side with the Houston/Cavs game last night. Thanks for the information on the men in stripes as they also play an integral part of the outcome of the game. Looking forward to more of what you have to say!
